UK investors with international tastes or those looking to buy a holiday house are choosing the Dominican Republic.

According to Maclee Sipps the Dominican Republic is rising to popularity as an investment location due to its rapidly developing tourist market.

Bookings to the Caribbean were up last financial year and bookings in some areas of Dominican Republic recorded an 800 per cent increase according to the Hayes and Jarvis report.

Many people are choosing to invest in a property inside resort boundaries as a holiday home for personal and rental use.

A Maclee Sipps spokesperson said developers feel so confident about the areas’ potential they are offering two years guaranteed rental in some locations.

"Right now there are few better places to invest in holiday lets than the Caribbean and the Dominican Republic is already a favourite destination with us Brits,” Gary Mcard MD of Maclee Sipps said.

“The growth of tourism in the area has been staggering and this can only feed the appetite for investing in property that is excellent value for money.”

This trend will only be helped by the recent 14 nominations the Dominican Republic has received in the World Travel Award.
